As a SCM (supply chain management) professional my daily duties are to bring visibility, structure, and accountability to supply chain processes combining more agile, resilient, and responsive supply chain. Current changes have placed the increasing focus on areas where technology can improve and streamline processes to fit those needs by reducing any possible risk factors on local or global chain. Hence, one should look at the total cost of ownership over price together with activities that enable this entire process to function efficiently and in the most optimal way. Sometimes we SCM professionals are considered as “wonders behind the scenes”. We might not be that visible but the description well enlightens our role that touches various different aspects on entire business flow from the very beginning selecting vendors, partners, purchasing materials, immaterial services, resources etc. and delivering to a final customer regardless their location by respecting global and local trade laws and regulations. Any challenge should be overcome and sorted out promptly within a very limited time frame! My daily goals are a satisfied customer and maintaining the competitive advantage in our industry.
